WEEE-Indication
The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electro-
nic Equipment) directive, which took ef-
fect as European Law on 13 February
2003, led to a comprehensive change
in the disposal of worn-out electronic de-
vices.
The main goal of this directive is the avoidance
of electronic scrap (WEEE) with simultaneous en-
couragement of the re-use, recycling, and other
forms of reprocessing, in order to reduce waste.
Das WEEE logo on the product and on the packa-
ging indicates that the product may not be dis-
posed of in the normal household garbage. You
are responsible for delivering all worn-out electric
and electronic devices to an appropriate collec-
tion location. Separate collection and sensible re-
processing of electronic scrap helps save natural
resources. Furthermore the reprocessing of elec-
tro-waste makes a contribution to the environment
and thereby to the health of everyone. You can
obtain further information about the disposal of
electric and electronic devices, their reprocessing
and collection points, from your local authorities,
waste disposal companies, in the dealership and
from the manufacturer of the device.
