Please ensure that the correct fit and function of your BORT DorsoFX back brace are regularly checked by
your orthopedic technician. This is particularly important at the beginning of your treatment.
The correct fit of your back brace is decisive for the success of your treatment.
It is very important that you practice with your physician/physiotherapist/orthopedic technician how to
put on and take off your support corset to gain the required routine in using your orthopedic aid.
Application period:
The application period of your BORT DorsoFX back brace should be determined by your physician in a
treatment schedule taking into account the indication and your personal situation.
Please observe the daily minium period of application set by your physician. This is crucial to support the
healing process.
For fresh fractures in particular, a long period of application can be expected.
Indications:
Conservative treatment of fresh, traumatic fractures of the thoracic spine (T 8 – 12)
Conservative treatment of fresh, traumatic fractures of the lumbar spine (L 1 – 5)
Conservative treatment of osteoporotic compression fractures of the thoracic spine (T 8 – 12)
Conservative treatment of osteoporotic compression fractures of the lumbar spine (L1 – 5)
Immobilization in the case of acute and/or chronic spinal diseases (in the above mentioned segment) if
immobilization is inidcated according to the physician's instructions:
– Spondylodiscitis
– Spondylolisthesis
– Segmental instability
– Facet joint arthrosis
– Tumors
– Scoliosis
Postoperative immobilization following
– Spinal fusion surgery
– Decompression
– Spinal disk surgery
– Spinal disk prosthesis
– Fracture treatment in the above mentioned spine segment

5. Close the Velcro closure in the abdominal area and re-tension the bottom Velc-
ro closure in the hip area (see Fig. 5). Please ensure that the support bandage
is crease-free and comfortable and can be smoothly attached to the corset.
Tip: Make sure that neither the support bandage nor the corset put pressure on
the groin area when sitting! If there is pressure, put your orthopedic aid on
again.
