Function and description

The FABA™ climbing protection sy-
stem complies with standard EN 353-1.
It will be supplied as either a complete
climbing protection ladder (climbing
protection rails with rungs) or as a
climbing protection rail for fi tting to exi-
sting ladders or other manhole steps.
The fall arrest slider is an integral part
of the climbing protection system and
together with the climbing protection
rails it forms a package of fall arrest
systems that safeguard against falling.
Each FABA™ fall arrest slider has
undergone, in conjunction with suitable
guide rails, EU proto type testing at a
registered certifi ca tion offi ce.
The FABA™ fall arrest slider runs in
the climbing protection rail profi le and
it accompanies the user, without any
manual intervention being necessary,
when going up or down and locks in
place automatically in the rail in the
event of a fall. In this case the locking
mechanism on the fall arrest slider
locks into one of the grooves in the rail
profi le, which prevents the fall arrest
slider from moving downwards thus
protecting the user against falling.
