Problem
Device does not stop
when the patient
removes their mask.
SmartStart is enabled
but the flow generator
does not stop
automatically when
the patient removes
their mask.
Date or time in data
files is wrong.

Possible Cause
The patient is using a full-face
mask.
There is excessive leak.
SmartStart/Stop is not enabled.
Incompatible mask system
being used.
Date or time on device is
wrong.
The air tubing is loose.
Component failure.
Your patient has experienced
leak levels of greater than
0.4 L/s (24 L/min) for more
than 30% of the previous
session.
Solution
SmartStart does not work
with a full-face mask as the
anti-asphyxia valve will not
allow sufficiently high
pressure on exhalation.
Adjust position of mask and
headgear.
Caps may be missing from
ports on mask. Replace
them.
Air tubing not connected
properly. Connect firmly at
both ends.
Air tubing kinked or
punctured. Straighten or
replace.
Enable SmartStart/Stop.
Use only equipment as
recommended by ResMed.
Correct the current time
and date on the device.
Check that the air tubing is
properly connected.
To clear the message, press
any key on the keypad.
Return your device for
servicing.
Check air tubing
connections and mask fit.
