Warnings and alarms

The PLC can register and display faults, give warnings and trigger alarms. The most
common types of warnings and alarms are displayed below. Depending on options or
special functions installed also other kinds of warnings/alarms may be found.
Some faults bring the installation to an immediate stop and trigging of the Summary
Alarm. Restart can not be made until the fault has been corrected. Overheating is such a
fault.
Other faults first trigger a warning followed by stopping the vacuum unit after a certain
time if no correction has been made. This offers a certain time to plan for the necessary
action. Warning + alarm for a full dust bin is an example.
A yellow lamp (LED) flashes during warning and/or alarm and the display shows the
cause. Warning and Summary Alarm are both available at the terminal block as closing
potential free contacts. See Chapter '6 External connection'.
Warning and alarm are reset, after fault correction, by pressing and releasing
thereafter pressing
after the other.
Common warnings and alarms are displayed and explained below.

Service
A warning is given when the number of running hours exceed
the chosen interval, normally 2000 h. The display shows "Time
for service" every second. The warning is also fed to the terminal
block but the vacuum unit does not stop and no summary alarm
is triggered. The warning can be reset by an authorised service
technichen after completed service.
Filter alarm (DPS)
The FlexFilter dust collector can be fitted with the option filter
guard DPS (Differential Pressure Switch). A warning is given if
the pressure drop across the filter exceeds ~4 kPa. Under "PLC
settings" is shown how to enter a delay "Filter alarm re(sponse)"
to avoid false alarm. The installation does not stop immediately
but after the "Stop delay time" has elapsed. It is important that a
suitable time, matching the operations, is entered. See Settings
menu 7 in Chapter '12 PLC settings'.
Dust bin ful (LI)
If the dust collector is fitted with the option LI (Level Indicator)
there is a sensor in the dust bin giving a warning when the dust
bin is ful. See settings, menu 8, for entering a delay "Bin alarm
re(sponse)" to avoid false alarm. The installation does not stop
immediately but after the "Stop delay time" has elapsed. It is im-
portant that a suitable time, matching the operations, is entered.
See Settings, menu 8 in Chapter '12 PLC settings'.
Compressed air switch (CAS)
If the vacuum unit it fitted with the option CAS (Compressed Air
Switch) the switch breaks if the pressure becomes too low. The
unit stops immediately and triggers Summary Alarm.
