Function

This range of starters covers 12 sizes. The power range is 11–55 kW at 50 Hz supply and
13–54 kW (17.5–75 HP) at 60 Hz supply.
The "power package" including the main switch, contactors, motor overload
relay and power cables differs between the 12 sizes. Power package
specification and spare part numbers for important components are listed
Chapter '10 Description of power package size no 1–12'. In chapter '11 Circuit diagram' is
a component layout and fuse specification list.
The wiring diagram in Chapter '11 Circuit diagram' and stickers inside the starter show
connection of the motor for correct direction of rotation and lowest possible stress on the
contactors.
The transformer is a so called multi transformer permitting a supply voltage ranging
from 208 to 575 V primary volage, 50/60 Hz.
NOTE!
Wiring of the transformer to the correct supply voltage must be checked before
putting into service, see Chapter '11 Circuit diagram'.
Secondary voltage is 24 V AC for contactor coils and 24 V DC for all other controls.
Function of the PLC is identical for all starter sizes. The PLC including input and output
terminals is programmed and ready for all available control and supervision functions.
These functions may be selected or deselected at any time but all are available in the
standard starter.
The external connections diagram (Chapter '6 External connection') and explainations
(Chapter '9 Wiring to control terminals') show what functions are available and their
respective wiring instruction. Chapter '6 External connection' also shows what terminals
must be bridged or left open if its function is not used. Where polarity is important this is
also indicated in the schematic.
Optimal usage of the starter requires PLC settings are correct for chosen control and
supervision functions. See Chapter '12 PLC settings'.
NOTE!
Warning and Alarm functions are explained in detail,
Chapter '13 Warnings and alarms'.
Note that usage of some functions require that certain options are installed in the vacuum
unit or on the dust collector.
The start time in Y-mode (relay K4T) must be set during first start. Required start
time differs much between different installations. Setting and start-up of the vacuum
equipment is described in Chapter '14 Operation'.
