Operation (cont'd)
Using the IPM-300
Field and Bench Use
The IPM-300 comes with a carrying case and a built-in tilt stand and hanger. The carrying case
has a belt loop which can be looped around a pipe or rail. The tilt stand is easily raised by
pulling the stand until it locks into place. To reverse the stand for use as a hanger, grasp the
stand near where it attaches to the meter, gently spread the stand outward and lift it out. Turn
the stand over and insert the ends back into the holes.
Autocal
To maintain accuracy, the IPM-300 periodically recalibrates its measuring circuitry against
internal references. While this is occurring, "CAL" appears on the display for less than two
seconds.
Turning the IPM-300 On and Off
To turn the unit on or off, press and release the POWER button. Each time you turn the
IPM-300 on, the LCD displays all segments briefly and then displays the most recently
selected Source or Read setting.
Connections
Correctly set up the outputs before connecting the unit to any instrument to be calibrated.
Failure to observe this precaution can result in injury and can damage the instrument
being calibrated.
A quick connection guide is located on the back of the unit and the boot. For more specific
instructions, follow the steps in the following sections.
