Zylinder-Funktion und Anwendung
Double-acting pneumatic cylinders are linear actuators designed to
move loads and/or apply forces under the effect of applied internal
pressure.
Caution:
Do not use as a spring or damping element! Use only the actua-
tor in its original state as shipped from the factory. The approval
becomes obsolete if a modification is made on the product.
Note:
operation with quality class compressed air according to ISO 8573-
1. Always channel and vacuum air outside the hazardous area. Lu-
bricated operation and use of liquids and gases is not possible. The
actuator may only be used under the operating conditions specified
in zones 1 and 2 in explosive gas atmospheres and in zones 21 and
22 in explosive dust atmosphere.
Commissioning:
Ensure that the specifications of the ATEX label affixed to the
cylinder conform to their operating conditions. National and
international ATEX directives must be respected.S
Article 153: Installation may only be carried out if the surrounding
atmosphere is free of explosive fluids. Only use ATEX-certified
unlocking accessories for mounting and compressed air supply of
the actuator. Integrate the actuator into the potential compensation
system and the lightning protection system. The cylinder tube and
piston rod must be grounded and connected to the electrically
conductive system. Grounding according to standard 60079-14 the
pneumatic end-of-stroke cylinders must be adjusted in such a way
that the position of the limit switches is reached and the piston rod
does not bounce where the covers are not tapped. No mechanically
generated spark can occur during use in the system. The actuator
must be in place and operated in such a way that the specifications
of the ATEX documentation are complied with.
Warning: The exhaust air can stir the deposited dust and create an
explosive atmosphere. Electro-statically charged parts can pro-
duce sparks. The electrostatic charge is not eliminated by coated
surfaces.
Operation, maintenance and maintenance must comply with the
requirements of the derective ATEX. Observe the limit values of use,
see the technical data.
When used in dusty environments, the life of the cylinders is lower
than in environments with a low particle rate. Dust deposits should
be avoided where eliminated.
Perform periodic and regular testing of cylinders, fasteners,
compressed air fittings, hoses, etc. The maintenance interval and
cleaning must be respected. Cleaning should be done on a regular
basis. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents. Avoid electrostatic
charges by cleaning. Maintenance after 2 million cycles (go, return)
or after 6 months. In the case of difficult conditions, the frequency
can be shortened. Maintenance and maintenance of cylinders only
in a room outside the zone or if the surrounding atmosphere is free
of explosive fluids. Dismantling and repairing of defective ATEX ac-
tuators can only be carried out by the manufacturer. Contact Parker
Technical Support if necessary.
Maintenance and malfunction:
Clean the piston rod with appropriate means. Tighten the actuator
mounting screws if necessary. Prevent any impact on the actuator's
limit switches, to adjust the pneumatic damping correctly, reduce
the mass where the cylinder is replaced by a cylinder of greater size.
Replace the actuator in case of malfunction. This can be caused
by scratches on the piston rod, noises during movement, loss of
power, audible leaks, an increase in the backlash of the piston rod
in the front cover of the actuator, poor damping of the limit switches
etc.
