WARNING!
Securely apply the slide plate clamp when the camera is positioned, to
prevent the camera payload slipping.
Using the pan bar [8] to tilt the head backwards and forwards, turn the Perfect Balance
lever [11] clockwise, until the camera remains in position and does not fall away when
the head is tilted and then released (hands free).
Repeat the setup, until perfect balance is achieved, when the camera remains set at any
angle from +90° to -90° without falling away or springing back.
NOTE:
Maximum tilt angle is less than 90° for heavy payloads with a high C of G –
refer to the counterbalance chart (Fig. 3).
Apply the tilt brake [3] to prevent the camera from moving accidentally when not in use.

Camera image stabilisation

Video camera image stabilisation is a great feature when going handheld, but it can cause
issues when the camera is mounted to a tripod. If the image stabilisation is switched on when
you frame up to a position and stop, the picture will continue to move or drift after the camera
has stopped moving, suggesting there is springback within the tripod system. This is not the
case, it is simply the lag within the camera image stabilisation system.
It is recommended that you switch off image stabilisation when mounting the camera to a tripod.

Operating the pan and tilt brakes

Friction brakes on each axis allow the head to be locked at any chosen position. The operating
levers for the pan brake [4] and tilt brake [3] are fitted on the left-hand side of the head.
CAUTION!
1. Do NOT use force on the brake levers. Hand tighten only.
2. Do NOT use the brakes to supplement drag, the head may be damaged.
Always ensure they are fully released when the head is not in use.
To apply the brake turn the brake lever fully clockwise.
To release the brake turn the brake lever fully counter-clockwise.
