2. Remove the foot cover attachment (Figure 2b).
3. Use a shoehorn to put the foot with the sock into the foot cover (Figure 2c).
CAUTION: Always use a shoehorn. If you do not use a shoehorn, you can pinch your fingers between the foot
cover and the foot.
4. Move the shoehorn up to fully push the foot into the cover (Figure 2d).
5. Put the foot cover attachment back onto the foot cover (Figure 2e).
CAUTION:
– Only use the device with an Össur Spectra sock. If you do not use it, the foot and foot cover can wear faster.
Dust and dirt can go into the foot and cause noise.
– Always use a shoehorn to prevent damage.
Bench Alignment
Adjust to the correct heel height of the shoe.
Set the correct socket angles for flexion/extension and abduction/ adduction.
Divide the foot cover into 3 equal portions. Align the load line with the line at the end of the first 1/3 portion, or
slightly anterior (Figure 3).
Dynamic Alignment
The heel stores energy after initial contact and slowly releases it at midstance.
The heel-to-toe action can be influenced by:
• Shoe performance
• Anterior/posterior positioning of the foot
• Dorsi-plantarflexion
CAUTION: For trans-femoral users, refer to the Instructions for Use for the knee.
