Update for msd3/mld3
There can be various reasons why the firmware for an
msd3/mld3 decoder should be updated. The update can
be done with the mDecoderTool3, a Central Station 3, or a
Central Station 2.
The following explanations cover the particular level of
software at the time this update was printed. Subsequent
changes may change the details of the procedure, but the
basic process remains the same.
- The settings on the decoder, such as sounds or mapping,
are not affected by the update.
- The connection to the decoder may not be disturbed
during the update procedure.
- A reset of the decoder after the update is only necessary
if the decoder settings are also being updated during the
update (only during „Update with the Central Station 3" or
„Update with the Central Station 2").

Update with the mDecoderTool3
- Requirement is the mDecoderTool3, Level 3.3.0. or newer.
The Tool can be downloaded at no charge at
www.maerklin.de. It may be necessary to uninstall older
versions of the program before the new installation.
- The PC with the Tool must be online, when the Tool is
started.
- The Programmer 60971 is required for the connection of
the decoder to the Tool.
- The decoder connected to the PC this way can now only
be updated with the Tool.

- The process will last up to 20 seconds.
