During Phototherapy

•
Select the site at which the Bili
taken. The preferred sites are the flat area of the forehead
between the infant's eyebrows or the sternum.
•
Be sure to hold the Bili
against the patient's forehead or sternum until the test is
complete.
•
A photo-opaque material (such as BilEclipse Phototherapy
Protective Patch or adhesive skin patches) must be
positioned over the measurement site prior to the start of
phototherapy. Any necessary precautions should be taken
to ensure that the material does not move and expose the
measurement site to the phototherapy lights.
