Operation:
Air supply
Connect the tool to a clean lubricated air supply capable
of providing a measured maximum air supply of 90 psig at
the tool with the tool running and the lever fully depressed.
Make certain an air shut off valve is installed within reach of
the tool's workspace.
Parameter
Minimum inside diameter: 5/16" (7.9 mm)
Air Hose
Maximum length: 16.4' (5 m)
Working
Performance rated at: 90 psi (620 kPa)
pressure range
Air quality according to ISO 8573-1, quality
Compressed air
class 2.4.3
The compressed air must be clean and dry.
Air line lubricators that inject oil right at the inlet of the tool,
when each cycle is initiated, are excellent for short cycle
applications like screw driving or nut setting. On many
fastener applications the tool run is so short that regular air
line lubricators do not get oil to the tool.
If the air supply is not equipped with an airline lubricator the
tool must be manually lubricated. To manually lubricate the
tool, disconnect the air supply line at the tool and place 2-3
drops of suitable air line oil into the inlet fitting of the tool.
Manually lubricate the tool daily or if the tool begins to slow
down or lose power.

Operating Instructions
This tool is not electrically insulated. Do not operate where
there is a possibility of coming into contact with electrical
wiring, gas pipes, water pipes, etc. Inspect the work area
thoroughly before operating the tool.
The work area must be clean, uncluttered, thoroughly
ventilated, and well illuminated.
Make sure the work environment is free of
any flammable or combustible elements that
sparks from the assembly process could ignite
causing an explosion.

Fully engage the drive socket or bit with the assembly
application before starting the tool.
During operation of the tool or when the air supply is
connected, keep your hands away from the drive socket or
bit to avoid injury.
Always disconnect the air supply from the tool before
changing drive sockets, bits, or making tool adjustments.
Do not lay the tool down until the drive socket or bit has
come to a complete stop. Make certain the tool has stopped
before moving to a different location.
Never carry the tool by the air supply hose. To prevent
accidental startup, disconnect the air supply line when
moving the tool to another location.
Immediately shut off the tool and disconnect the air supply
if you notice unusual sound or excessive vibration. Have a
qualified repair technician inspect the tool and repair before
placing it back into operation.
These Safety Instructions are not intended to be all
inclusive. The operator should also study and comply with
all applicable Federal, State, and Local Regulations.
Maintenance:
Recommended Minimum Service Intervals
The following recommendations are initial guidelines and
should be adapted according to the tool utilization.
These recommended service intervals are valid for most
applications.
Daily (before or after each shift):
•
Clean tool, remove all dirt and debris
•
Inspect air supply hose and connections
•
Inspect air line filter, regulator and lubricator for proper
lubrication rate
•
Check air supply for proper pressure
•
Check that all guards are properly mounted
•
Inspect all external components for proper fit or damage
•
Check the tool for excessive vibration or noise.
100,000 cycles
•
Check the motor speed - clean or repair as necessary
•
Check for external air leaks - replace o-rings as required
•
Inspect the square drive output spindle for damage
•
Inspect and grease the gearing, replace as necessary
500,000 cycles
•
Inspect all o-rings, gaskets, and seals - replace as
necessary
•
Clean or replace the bronze mufflers
1,000,000 cycles
•
Replace all bearings
•
Inspect all gearing for excessive wear or damage and
replace as necessary.
