5.2
Waxprofi + Bunsen Burner
When processing wax with the Waxprofi in conjunction with a Bunsen burner, the wax knife need only be
briefly heated in the burner flame since the already heated wax in the Waxprofi requires hardly any addi-
tional heat in order to be processed.
This saves both time and makes handling the base wax significantly easier.
5.3
Waxprofi + Electric Wax Knife
Match your Waxprofi to your electric wax knife. This offers the best prerequisites for quickly and precisely
performing the wax tasks for full and partial dentures.
Teeth can set up and gums can be modelled without the delays inherent in the melting time, and without
the distraction of the burner flame. The wax is never overheated. This keeps contraction to a minimum,
thus saving the time required for subsequent corrective work or allowing you to complete your set up
more rapidly. Good results can be obtained with Renfert's Waxlectric I or II electric waxing-up instruments.
Using the large tip (Art. No. 2155-0105) or the chamfer tip (Art. No. 2155-0106) we recommend setting
the Waxlectric to a temperature of 130 - 150 °C (266 - 302 °F).
Please note:
If the power supply is interrupt ed (e.g., as the result of a mains power failure) while the Waxprofi
is switched on, the unit returns to its previous operating mode once power is restored.
Notes / Tips on Operation:
• The Waxprofi can also be used for modelling wax or light wax.
• Refill the pot regularly. Renfert recommends GEO pink modelling wax, No. 647-0000.
• Close the lid to reduce the heating time.
• Do not overheat the wax in the
Waxprofi.
• Use the inner rim of the pot to strip off excess wax.
• When working with wax in a viscous or spreadable consistency, do not close the lid during short
work interruptions, otherwise the trapped heat will completely liquefy the wax.
• When working with the Waxlectric, good results can be obtained with tip numbers 2155-0104,
-0105, -0106, -0110, and -0111 at a temperature of 130 - 150 °C (266 - 302 °F).
• Some waxes may form a surface skin with reduced temperatures. The skin can be easily dis-
solved by means of stirring.
• To obtain a viscous or spreadable consistency, heat the wax until a majority has been liquefied
(approx. ¾ of the pot content), then turn down the Waxprofi's temperature until the desired con-
sistency is achieved.
• A uniform consistency can be obtained more quickly by stirring the pot contents.
• Some waxes may separate, that is, individual colour pigments separate out of the base material.
Simply stir the wax to return it to its original, homogenous state.
Exceptions to this are when the Waxprofi is used in conjunction with:
- Solidus 84 (Yeti);
- "Hardy" modelling wax (Gebdi).

Cleaning and Maintenance

The Waxprofi is maintenance free.
From time-to-time, you should wipe your unit down with a damp cloth.
Do not use solvents or cleansers.
Never rinse or spray your Waxprofi directly with water!
If the unit switched off, you can remove hardened wax residue by carefully scraping it.
Warming the unit's surfaces with a hair drier will make it easier to remove wax residue.
The Waxprofi lid can be removed, allowing dirt and other contaminants to be easily cleaned under a
steam jet.
