g. Re-open Quick Fit Buckle and remove from
keyhole
h. Re-insert DFS strap into D ring of Quick Fit
Buckle the correct way and fold at end of hook
to secure strap (Picture 7).
i. Insert button end of lower Quick Fit Buckle into
keyhole and close carefully
j. To adjust lower DFS strap repeat steps 4c & 4d
for upper Quick Fit Buckle
k. In a sitting position with knee at 80° angle and
foot flat on floor, pull on end of DFS strap until
snug on leg
l. Repeat steps 4f to 4i for upper Quick Fit Buckle
m. Fully extend knee and make sure that brace sits
well on leg.
n. Putting knee back to 80° of flexion, open zipper
on liner cover and pull on Dynamic Force
Control System until arrow points at number 5
(Picture 8).
o. Fully extend leg and close zipper on sleeve
NOTE: Have patient wear brace for a few minutes
to make sure straps are at comfortable tension.
Pressure reducing pads are included and may be
applied for additional comfort.
Cut Straps:
a. Remove brace from patient´s leg.
b. Cut excess length from strap leaving enough
material for any future adjustments.
c. Make sure ends of hook Velcro are not
overlapping strap - exposed Velcro can be
abrasive
Liner Cover applications:
For any required removal of liner cover because of
washing or fitting adjustments, replace liner cover
with extra set of liners that comes with each brace.
Removing liner cover
1. Remove small knob on end of thigh and calf
straps from keyholes (Picture 9).
2. Remove liner cover from device by freeing first
thigh section, then calf section.
3. Be careful not to damage liner cover during the
process by pulling too hard.

Applying liner cover
1. Apply liner cover to device by starting at calf
section and wrapping it around calf shell,
placing it correctly by using Velcro attachments
on shell.
2. Pull thigh section of liner cover over device and
wrap it around thigh shell, attaching with Velcro
on shell.
3. Reattach thigh and calf straps to keyholes by
threading button hook on strap through hole
on inside of liner cover, find small keyhole with
your finger and pull button hook into a locked
position.
4. MAKE SURE THAT UPPER DFS STRAP IS
UNDERNEATH LOWER DFS STRAP.
Shell adjustment:
1. Remove liner cover from brace and replace
straps back in keyholes.
2. Use heat gun to heat specific area of shell.
3. Apply heat from inside of shell.
4. Replace liners back in brace. Place brace on
patient´s leg in correct position.
5. Tighten straps.
6. Let cool on patient´s leg.
7. Replace liners with liner cover.
Donning Brace (straps have been adjusted to its
standard setting)
1. Align brace on patient´s leg with center of hinge
at mid patella and midline of a / p plane.
2. With both Quick Fit Buckles open - place button
of lower Quick Fit Buckle into appropriate
keyhole above buckle-stability pin and close
carefully.
3. Bend knee to an 80° angle - foot flat on floor.
4. Place button of upper Quick Fit Buckle into
appropriate keyhole and close carefully.
5. Open zipper on sleeve.
6. Tighten Dynamic Force Control System to a
prescribed position: Practitioner will need
to determine optimum unloading based on
patient´s pain relief feedback but initial setting
is recommended at 5.
7. Fully extend leg in a sitting position and make
sure that brace is still aligned correctly on leg.
