Function and application
The clamping cartridge KP in the clamping
unit KPE or in the cylinder with clamping unit
ADN−...−KP/DNC−...−KP/DSNU−...−KP holds
the clamping rod (round material or piston
rod) firmly in any position.
When the clamping cartridge is exhausted,
a spring presses the clamping jaws apart
(Fig. 2). As a result of the clamping jaws being
pushed apart, the jaws are tilted on the piston
rod . The round material or the piston rod is
clamped.
When the clamping cartridge is pressurized
(compressed air connection 2), a piston
presses the clamping jaws together until the
jaws are parallel to each other (Fig. 3).
The holes in the clamping jaws then lie in
an axis with the clamping rod. The clamping
is loosened, the round material or the piston
rod can move freely.
The clamping can be loosened manually
(Fig. 4). The screw supplied (M5 DIN 912 or
1/8 inch) is screwed into the compressed air
connection 2 of the clamping cartridge. This
presses the clamping jaws together over the
piston until the clamping is loosened.
The clamping cartridge KP in the clamping
unit KPE or in the cylinder with clamping unit
ADN−...−KP/DNC−...−KP/DS NU−...−KP has been
designed for holding a clamping rod (in most
cases a piston rod). The clamping unit is in
tended for the following applications:
Holding or clamping round material or a
piston rod in any desired position.
