Installation

This chapter provides installation instructions for the 64060625/30538111 intrinsically safe
battery packs. Please read this chapter thoroughly before beginning installation.
A graphic of a typical intrinsically safe terminal installation using the battery pack is shown in
Figure 3-1.

Mounting the Battery

Note that the 64050625/30538111 battery packs are shipped from the factory without a full
charge. Before use, the battery pack must be placed on the charger in the safe area and
charged to full capacity (maximum of 11 hours).

DO NOT INSTALL OR PERFORM ANY SERVICE ON THIS EQUIPMENT BEFORE THE AREA HAS
BEEN SECURED AS NON-HAZARDOUS BY PERSONNEL AUTHORIZED TO DO SO BY THE
RESPONSIBLE PERSON ON SITE.
DO NOT REPLACE THE BATTERY PACK WITH A BATTERY OR BATTERY PACK OTHER THAN THE
ONE SUPPLIED BY METTLER TOLEDO WITHOUT FIRST MAKING SURE THE ENTITY PARAMETERS
ARE ACCEPTABLE. IF THERE IS ANY DOUBT REGARDING THE ENTITY PARAMETERS, USE ONLY
THE BATTERY PACK SUPPLIED BY METTLER TOLEDO.
