Note
The plugs -1- are designed such that they can only be plugged into the connector sockets on the control unit -3- in
one position.
Plug the sensor plug -1- according to its numbering into the associated sockets "1" to "4" on the control unit -3-,
until they perceptibly engage.
Push the power supply wiring harness connector plug -2- into the associated socket on the control unit -3- until you
feel it click into position.
Push the buzzer unit connector plug -4- into the associated socket "BUZ" on the control unit -3- until it perceptibly engages.
Set up the Park Distance Control system page 32.

Note
◆
The illustration shows the left side of the rear bumper cover -1- from the inside. The installation holes on the right
side are marked and drilled in a similar manner.
◆
The external installation holes -4- for the sensors must be drilled in the positions marked on the inside of the
bumper cover.
◆
The interior installation holes -3- for the sensors are marked and drilled 50 mm to the outside and 9 mm upward
from the specified markings -2-.
Remove the bumper cover.

Mark and punch the drilling points on the interior side of the bumper cover.
Pre-drill with a ∅ 2 mm drill.
Liberally apply adhesive tape in the areas where the holes are to be drilled in order to protect the visible side of the
bumper covering.
Drill the holes from the outside with a ∅ 20 mm Forstner drill bit and then deburr.
Remove the left-hand side luggage compartment trim from the vehicle.

Run the connecting wires numbered "1" to "4" on the sensor wiring harness from the inside of the bumper cover to
the outside. Wire "1" begins in the right hand (facing forwards) installation hole drilled in the bumper covering, the
wires "2" to "4" are fitted consecutively.
Degrease the inside of the bumper covering using a suitable cleaning agent.
Secure the wiring harness using the socket cable ties supplied to the bumper cover -arrows-.

Note
◆
The following steps can only be completed after the paint on the sensors is completely dry.
◆
For reasons of clarity, the figure shows a dismantled sensor.
◆
The correct position of the sensors can be seen using the markings in the outer ring of the sensors - these must
point upwards.
◆
The plug -3- is designed such that it can only be plugged into the connector socket -1- on the sensor -2- in one
position.
Connect the plug -3- to the sensors' connector socket -1-.
Push the coverings -4- over the sensors -2- and clip the sensors into the holes in the bumper covering.
Page 5 - figure 2
Push the wire grommet -2- approximately 300 mm along the wiring harness for the sensors -1- toward the control
unit connector.
