Joining station

11.3 Sequence

1. When the workpiece is detected at the start of conveyor 1 module, the conveyor motor is switched on.
The workpiece is transported up to the stopper.
2. The diffuse sensor (optical proximity sensor with fiber-optic cable) upstream of the stopper detects the
workpiece; the motor of conveyor 1 module is switched off after 1 s.
3. The diffuse sensor with digital and analog output signal above the stopper identifies the orientation of
the workpiece.
Workpiece with "opening facing downward" is detected; output to pickup point on conveyor module 1
4. The stopper is retracted.
5. The conveyor motor of conveyor 1 module is switched on.
6. Once the "Housing" workpiece has reached the end of conveyor 1 module, the motor of conveyor 1
module is switched off. If a next station is ready (I6 = 1), the workpiece is transported to the next
station.
Workpiece with "Opening facing upward" identified; cover of conveyor 2 is joined onto workpiece
4. The stopper is retracted and the deflector is extended.
5. The motor of conveyor 1 module is switched on.
6. The workpiece is transported to the deflector.
7. The motor of conveyor 1 module is switched off.
8. The Pick&Place module grips a cap and joins it into the workpiece.
9. The deflector is retracted.
10. The motors of conveyor 1 and 2 modules switched on.
11. If there is a cap again in the area of the sensor on conveyor 2, the motor of conveyor 2 is switched off.
12. Once the joined workpiece has reached the pickup point, the conveyor motor of conveyor 1 is switched
off. If a next station is ready (I6 = 1), the workpiece is transported to the next station.
62
If no sensor signal is received within 300 s, the motor of conveyor 1 module switches
off automatically and the station goes to "Malfunction" (signal lamp Q1 = 1).
