Measuring Pro Station – Operating instructions
10 Function
The Measuring Pro station has functions to measure the height and weight of workpieces. The workpieces
are transported from the pick-up position to the measurement table by a rotary cylinder and then
transported to the scales. If the measurement result is not correct at one of the two modules this is signaled
by the indicator light. In this case the workpiece is ejected from the process.
In the case of a correct result, the workpiece is transported on to the next station to the right.
11 Procedure Description
11.1 Start-up prerequisites

Valid order created in MES
•
No workpiece at the start or end of the belt
11.2 Initial position
•
Ejector cylinder retracted
•
Stopper cylinder retracted
•
Measuring cylinder retracted
•
Rotary cylinder in mid-position
•
Gripper lowered and opened.
•
Conveyor motor off
11.3 Sequence
1. If the station is in automatic mode and the sensor detects a workpiece at the start of the belt then the
belt motor is started.
2. The RFID read head either moves up or stays in the lowered position depending on the height of the
workpiece.
3. The order number is read and the necessary steps are requested from the MES.
4. The workpiece moves to the first fork light barrier. Then it continues to move at reduced speed. The two
fork light barriers are used to sense whether it is a round workpiece or a carton. Cartons are not
measured using the tactile measurement module. The corresponding work step is skipped. An
information message is shown in the status area of the web interface.
5. The workpiece is gripped by the gripper. Then the gripper moves up.
6. The remaining procedure differs according to the MES order.
