Storage station
The workpieces are picked by the pneumatic gripper and, depending on color, are advanced to the
corresponding storage level by means of the planar surface gantry assembly. 8 workpieces (black, red,
silver, transparent) can be placed into storage on each level.
Alternatively, the issue level or the issue color can be specified by setting up a bit combination.

9.4 Issue

When material is requisitioned by a downstream station, workpieces (black, red, silver, transparent) are
alternately picked by the pneumatic gripper and advanced to the downstream station with the help of the
planar surface gantry.

10 Sequence description

Start-up prerequisites

No workpiece in the workpiece holding unit
•
At least 1 empty location in the storage area
Initial position
•
Planar surface gantry and gripper's spindle axis in start position
•
Gripper open
Store mode operating sequence
1. A workpiece is fed via the chute, the detection module detects its color and a diffuse sensor in the
workpiece holding unit detects its presence.
2. The planar surface gantry and the spindle axis travel to the pick position at the holding unit.
3. The gripper is closed.
4. Depending on which color has been detected, the workpiece is advanced to an empty location on the
assigned storage level.
5. The gripper is opened.
6. The planar surface gantry and the spindle axis return to the start position.
