8. Periodic maintenance and cleaning
The unit must only be operated when in perfect condition!
Immediately shut down the unit as soon as any damage or malfunction is detected!
Danger!
• Only open the control unit and carry out maintenance work on the entire machine when the mains plug is disconnected!
Caution!
Risk of physical injury to people and animals and material damage!
• Maintenance and cleaning work must only be carried out by trained personnel.
• Keep all safety and warning notices on/at the unit in a legible condition at all times.
• When changing the slide bearings, always secure the motor suspension including the brush against falling down or sagging using suitable
lifting gear. Risk of injury!
• When changing brushes: the brush falls down if the screw is loosened completely.

8.2 Visual inspection of mechanical + electrical safety technology
• Daily inspection of the unit for externally visible damage and general functionality.
• Check of the status of the electrical cables and the control unit. (Bite marks, wear spots, loose connections, etc.).
8.3 Gears
The gears have already been filled at the factory with Shell Tivela S320 gear
oil. Top up any lost oil using only this type of oil. Check whether oil is leaking
from the gearbox seals.
8.4 Screw connections
Check all screw connections weekly to ensure they are tight, especially the
securing of the unit to the wall. Tighten the screw connections if necessary.
8.5 Moving parts
Lubricate the flange bearing units at the locations marked (Fig. 12). Check
plain bearing bushes (Fig. 14 - item 2.2) for wear. These parts must be in-
spected regularly and replaced if they are wearing too much.
8.6 Brushes
The brushes (Fig. 13 - item 4) must be changed once they have worn down
and exhibit only inadequate cleaning performance on the animals.
8.6.1 Changing the brushes
1. Loosen the screw under the brush.
2. Remove the brush and replace it with a new one.
3. Apply threadlocker to screw, retighten with the washer and spring washer.
