5.3.1 Installation height

The suspension height of the unit must be adapted to the average withers height of the animals. The top edge of the brush roller itself should be
approx. 100 - 200 mm above the average withers height. The suspension height must be determined before the mounting holes are made!
If there are considerable differences in withers height among the herd (more than 20 cm), the suspension height should be orientated towards
the larger animals in order to avoid rapid wear of the brushes.

5.3.2 Installation steps

1. Determine the installation height (see Point 5.3.1)
2. Install the suspension arm at the determined height.
3. Prepare the drive unit and joint piece for assembly:
1. Dismantle the upper axle (Fig. 4 - item 6) from the joint piece.
2. Have tools ready to install the upper axle.
4. Lift the drive unit/joint piece with suitable lifting equipment to the moun-
ted suspension arm.
5. Push the upper axle (Fig. 4 - item 6) through the bearing in the suspension
arm and the joint piece and mount it.
6. Secure the axle with the M14 fastening screw (Fig. 4 - item 10).
7. Secure the axle against rotation with the screw (Fig. 4 - item 18) and self-
locking nut (Fig. 4 - item 19).
8. Secure the M14 fastening screw against loosening with the locking plate
(Fig. 4 - item 11), screw (Fig. 4 - item 11), washer (Fig. 4 - item 12) and
self-locking nut (Fig. 4 - item 13). Secure the motor cable to the suspension
arm with clamps and self-tapping screws (Fig. 5).
