Operation
This device is equipped with an automatic shut-off unit,
which prevents the fluid from entering into the com-
pressed air flow. Empty the bleeder tank regularly to
prevent the tank from being overfilled with the drawn
off fluid.
Removing old Brake Fluid
Clean the exterior of the cap and the master brake cyl-
inder.
Remove the cap from the master cylinder reservoir.
Connect clean, regulated compressed air (between
4.1 bar (60 psi) and 10.3 bar (150 psi)) to the male
quick disconnect nipple attached to the swivel air inlet
located at one end of the cover housing.
Connect the appropriate end of the extractor tube to
the fluid inlet cover located on top of the brake bleeder
unit.
Insert the other end of the extractor tube assembly into
the master cylinder fluid reservoir. Press and immedi-
ately release the blue pushbutton to reset the float.
Allow a few seconds for the vacuum to build. Remove
all sludge/debris remainders.
Once all brake fluid is removed, switch the brake
bleeder off and refill new brake fluid.
Vacuum-bleeding the Brake Lines
and the Wheel Brake Cylinders
Clean all bleed screws.
Connect clean, regulated compressed air (between
4.1 bar (60 psi) and 10.3 bar (150 psi)) to the male
quick disconnect nipple attached to the swivel air inlet
located at one end of the cover housing.
Connect the appropriate end of the bleeder hose to the
fluid inlet cover located on top of the brake bleeder
unit.
Slip the rubber fitting located on the other end of the
brake bleeder hose over the nipple of the bleed screw.
Open the air valve. Press and immediately release the
blue pushbutton to reset the float. Allow a few seconds
for the vacuum to build. Open the bleed screw. (Do not
tear off the bleed screw!)
Keep the bleed screw open until new fluid is visibly
flowing through the bleeder hose.
Close the bleed screw firmly before removing the rub-
ber fitting or shutting off the brake bleeder.
Notes for all applications:
Note for the master brake cylinder: An automatic mas-
ter cylinder refill kit is included with the vacuum brake
bleeder, which regulates the level of the new brake
fluid. Follow the refill-kit instructions to prevent air from
being drawn into the master cylinder pistons, brake
lines, and wheel cylinders.
Observe the vehicle manufacturer's guidelines.
During the bleeding process, air is drawn into the lines.
This is normal and does not indicate a malfunction. To
prevent or reduce air from being drawn in, coat the
bleed screw threads with silicon grease prior to the
bleeding.
The rubber fitting of the bleeder hose must remain con-
nected to the bleeder screw. The vacuum must be main-
tained while closing the bleed screw. This prevents air
from being drawn in before the bleed screw is tight-
ened and sealed.
When an automatic refill kit, as provided with this unit,
is not supplied, check the brake-fluid level regularly.
Removing old Fluid from the Clutch
Master Cylinder
Clean the exterior of the master cylinder and the mas-
ter cylinder cap.
Remove the cap from the clutch cylinder reservoir.
Connect clean, regulated compressed air (between
4.1 bar (60 psi) and 10.3 bar (150 psi)) to the male
quick disconnect nipple attached to the swivel air inlet
located at one end of the cover housing.
Connect the appropriate end of the extractor tube to
the fluid inlet cover located on top of the brake bleeder
unit.
Insert the other end of the extractor tube into the clutch
master cylinder fluid reservoir. Press and immediately
release the blue pushbutton to reset the float. Allow a
few seconds for the vacuum to build. Remove all
sludge/debris remainders.
Once all brake fluid is removed, switch the brake
bleeder off and refill new brake fluid.
Vacuum-bleeding the Clutch Master
Cylinder, Slave Cylinders and
Hydraulic Lines
Clean the bleeder screw of the slave cylinder.
Connect clean, regulated compressed air (between
4.1 bar (60 psi) and 10.3 bar (150 psi)) to the male
quick disconnect nipple attached to the swivel air inlet
located at one end of the cover housing.
