Do not install pipe plug as final setting of this relief valve will
occur during the setting of the valve.
17. Grease ball, guide, spring (items 41,42,43) and insert into
cavity (see figure 4 for orientation). Screw in adjustment
screw (item 26) using 5/32" Allen and turn in 2 turns only.
Do not install pipe plug as final setting of this relief valve will
occur during the setting of the valve.
18. Install pin (item 28) if necessary.
19. Install o-rings (qty.4) (item 48).
20. Mount (item 51) onto Locking block, followed by mounting
to item 49 using screw (item 62) and torque to 32-39 ft-lbs
[43-53 Nm] using an 8 mm Allen wrench (see figure 1).
TO SET THE VALVE:
1.
Mount valve onto pump.
2.
Attach couplings to "A" and "B" ports of item 49.
3.
Attach a V152 valve to the "B" port.
4.
Attach a 0-15,000 psi [0-1034 bar] gauge to both "A" and
"B" ports.
5.
Turn pump on. Rotate handle to point towards the "A" port.
Using a 1/8" Allen and a 9/16" wrench, pressurize valve by
slowly turning in the adjustment screw (item 2, figure 6) of
the relief valve assembly (item 58, figure 5) clockwise until
pressure builds to 7,500 psi +/-200 psi [517 +/-14 bar].
6.
Hand torque lock nut (item 9, figure 6) to secure the setting.
7.
Shift the valve to the neutral or center position and check for
pressure drift. Valve may drift down 5% from initial pressure
for the first 30 seconds and then stabilize. For example: at
7,500 psi pressure setting, the valve can only drift down 500
psi to a final pressure value of 7,000 psi in 30 seconds. For
the next 10 seconds a maximum pressure drop of 150 psi is
permitted.
8.
If a pipe plug exist, unscrew the pipe plug (item 44) on the right
side of the valve. Unload the V152 by rotating the handle
counterclockwise so that no back pressure exists on the "B"
side of the valve. Shift the valve to the "B" side. Slowly rotate
the handle of the V152 clockwise to build backpressure in the
"B" side. Adjust screw (item 26) counterclockwise to reduce
pressure or clockwise to increase pressure. Set to 6000-6500
