2 Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to the directive for electromag-
netic compatibility 89/336/EEC and the low voltage
directive 73/23/EEC.
2 Hinweise für den sicheren Gebrauch
Dieses Gerät entspricht der Richtlinie für elektroma-
gnetische Verträglichkeit 89/336/EWG und der Nie-
derspannungsrichtlinie 73/23/EWG.
Das Gerät wird mit lebensgefährlicher Netzspan-
nung (230 V~) versorgt. Nehmen Sie deshalb nie
selbst Eingriffe im Gerät vor. Durch unsachgemä-
ßes Vorgehen besteht die Gefahr eines elektrischen
Schlages. Außerdem erlischt beim Öffnen des Ge-
rätes jeglicher Garantieanspruch.
Beachten Sie für den Betrieb auch unbedingt die fol-
genden Punkte:
Vorsicht! Blicken Sie bei geöffneter CD-Schub-
lade nicht in den CD-Schacht. Eventuell austreten-
de Laserstrahlen können zu Augenschäden führen.
Das Gerät ist nur zur Verwendung in Räumen ge-
eignet.
Die im Gerät entstehende Wärme muß durch Luft-
zirkulation abgegeben werden. Darum dürfen die

Wird das Gerät zweckentfremdet, falsch bedient
oder nicht fachgerecht repariert, kann für eventu-
elle Schäden keine Haftung übernommen werden.
The unit uses lethal mains voltage (230 V~). In
order to prevent a shock hazard, do not open the
cabinet. Leave servicing to authorized, skilled per-
sonnel only. Moreover, any guarantee claim ex-
pires if the unit has been opened.
For operation also observe in any case the following:
Caution! Do not look into the CD mechanism
when the CD drawer is open. Laser beams could
be emitted resulting in eye damage.
The unit is suitable for indoor use only.
The heat which is generated in the unit has to be
carried off via air circulation. Therefore, do not
cover the air vents of the housing with anything.
Do not insert anything into the air vents! This could
result in electric shock.
Do not set the unit into operation and immediately
take the mains plug out of the mains socket if:
1. damage at the unit or mains cable can be seen,
2. a defect might have occurred after a drop or
similar accident,

3 Aufstellung und Anschluß des Gerätes
Der CD-Spieler ist für die Montage in ein Rack
(482 mm/19") vorgesehen. Hierzu werden 2 Höhen-
einheiten benötigt (1 Höheneinheit = 44,45 mm). Der
CD-Spieler läßt sich aber auch als freistehendes
Tischgerät verwenden. In diesem Fall muß er auf einer
ebenen, waagerechten Fläche aufgestellt werden.
Alle Anschlüsse nur bei ausgeschaltetem Gerät vor-
nehmen bzw. verändern.
1) Den Stereo-Ausgang LINE OUT (16) - linker Ka-
nal L und rechter Kanal R - über ein Cinch-Kabel
mit dem entsprechenden CD-Spieler-Eingang am
Mischpult oder am Verstärker verbinden.
2) Der CD-Spieler kann über ein Mischpult mit Kon-
taktsteuerung gestartet bzw. auf Pause geschaltet
werden. Zum Anschluß der Steuerverbindung,
siehe Kap. 6.
3) Zuletzt den Netzstecker in eine Steckdose (230 V~/
50 Hz) stecken.
4 Bedienung
4.1 CD abspielen
1) Das Gerät mit dem Ein-/Ausschalter POWER (1)
einschalten. Ist keine CD eingelegt, zeigt das Dis-
play (3) nach kurzer Zeit „no disc" an. Zum Öffnen
der CD-Schublade (2) die Taste OPEN/ CLOSE
(7) drücken. Im Display erscheint „OPEN".
2) Die CD mit der Beschriftung nach oben einlegen.
Die CD-Schublade mit der Taste OPEN/CLOSE
schließen. Bei korrekt eingelegter CD erscheint im
Display nach kurzer Zeit die Gesamttitelanzahl und
die Gesamtspieldauer der CD [(e) und (f) in Abb. 3].
Die Gesamttitelanzahl wird zusätzlich durch den
Titelkalender [(g) in Abb. 3] angezeigt. Besitzt die

3 Installation and Connection of the
Unit
The CD player has been designed for rack mounting
(482 mm/19"). For this 2 rack spaces are necessary
(1 rack space = 44.45 mm). The CD player can also
be used as a table top unit. In this case it must be
placed on an even, horizontal surface.
Carry out resp. change all connections only with the
unit switched off.
1) Connect the stereo output LINE OUT (16) - left
channel L and right channel R - via a cable with
phono connectors to the corresponding CD player
input at the mixer or amplifier.
2) The CD player can be started resp. switched to
pause via a mixer with contact control. For the
control connection see chapter 6.
3) Finally connect the mains plug to a socket
(230 V~/50 Hz).
4 Operation
4.1 Playing a CD
1) Switch on the unit with the POWER switch (1). If
no CD has been inserted, the display (3) shows
"no disc" after a short time. To open the CD drawer
(2), press button OPEN/CLOSE (7). "OPEN" is
displayed.
2) Insert a CD with the lettering facing upwards.
Close the CD drawer with button OPEN/CLOSE.
With correctly inserted CD the display shows after
a short time the total title number and the total
playing time of the CD [(e) and (f) in fig. 3]. The
total title number is additionally displayed by the
