8. Grounding System
This product must be grounded. In case of a short circuit the grounding reduces the risk of electric shock trhough
an unloading conductor of electric current.
WARNING: The incorrect installation of the grounding duct/connector might result in risk of electric shock.
If substitution or repair of the cable or connector is needed, do not connect the duct/connecter to any one of the
feeding ducts.
The ground duct, whose surface is green, with or without yellow stripes, has the exclusive function of grounding.
Should you have doubts about this information, or if a product is correctly grounded, consult a specialized tech-
nician (with knowledge of NBR 5410 and NR 10).
9. Special Requirements
There might be technical norms of the working ministry or of governmental agencies which are applicable to the
use of the generator in determined applications. Consult a qualified electrician, a qualified electrical inspector or
the energy agency of your region.
• In some regions the generators must be registered in the local energy utility company;
• If the generator is used in building places, there might be special rules to be followed.
10. Applications in AC alternating current
Before connecting any equipment to the generator:
• Make sure the equipment is working properly. Deffective equipment might cause electric shock;
• If the equipment presents anomalies during operation, looses power or stops unexpectedly, turn it off imme-
diately, disconnect it from the generator and assess to determine if the cause is a deffect of the equipment
or if the generator maximum load was exceeded.
• Make sure the equipment power does not exceed the generator power. Never exceed the generator maxi-
mum power. Power levels between the nominal and the maximum power can be used but no longer that 30
minutes for day.
WARNING: A substantial overload will disarm the overload protector. Exceeding the maximum time in maximum
power or a slight overload might not provoke the disarming of the overload protector but will result in a decrease
in the useful life of the generator.
• Limit time for operation in maximum power – 30 minutes.
• For continuous operation do not exceed the generator nominal power.
• For any application the total power of all the equipment connected must be considered. Generally, the
machine and equipment manufacturers indicate the power of them on labels next to the serial number or
under them.
