be poorer, thus over heating of the enging and permanent damage to it might happen.
16. Pre-operation Checking - Motor oil (4 Stroke Engines)
IMPORTANT
Do not use 2-stroke oil in 4-stroke machines and vice versa.
Check oil level before each time you use the generator on a flat surface and with the engine off..
Use oil for 4 stroke engines or equivalent with high detergent capacity which meets the SG classficiation or
superior. Oil classification can be found on its package.
For general use we recommend SAE 20W50 oil, other viscosities might be used depending on the average tem-
perature in the region where the generator is operating, see table above.
• Remove the oil dipstick and clean it with a clean piece of cloth.
• Check oil level reinserting the oil dipstick without screwing it.
• The indicated level must be between the minimum and maximum marks, if below, complete up to the correct
level. If the oil is above the maximum indicated, remove the excess. Oil above the level might damage parts
of the engine such as retainers and valves.

17. Fuel Recommendations
• Check fuel level through the display.
• Refuel if necessary, but do not refuel above the nozzle level. The fuel is extremely flammable and explosive.
• Refuel in a ventilated area with the engine off. Do not smoke and do not allow sparks and flames to be in the
area where the generator is refueled and where the fuel is stored.
• Do not overfill the fuel tank (there should be no fuel above the filter edge). After filling the fuel tank make
sure the lid is properly closed. The spilled fuel and its steam may ignite by the contact with hot engine parts.
If a generator set to work in high altitudes is used at sea level, the mixture air-fuel will
The correct oil type and its quality are key factors in the engine life and performance.
