For your safety.
Do not use this machine before you have
thoroughly read and completely under-
stood this Instruction Manual, including the fig-
ures, specifications and safety regulations.
Please also observe the relevant national indus-
trial safety regulations (e. g. in Germany: BGV
A2, BGR 500).
Non-observance of the safety instructions can
lead to an electric shock, fire and/or severe inju-
ries.
This Instruction Manual should be kept for later
use and enclosed with the machine, should it be
passed on or sold.
Use safety glasses, protective gloves and
hearing protection. As appropriate, wear a
dust mask and shop apron capable of pro-
tecting you against grinding and work piece
particles. The safety glasses must be capa-
ble of protecting against flying particles
generated by the various different opera-
tions. The dust mask or respirator must be capa-
ble of filtering particles generated by your
operation. Prolonged exposure to high intensity
noise may cause loss of hearing.
While working, do not wear loose clothing, jewel-
lery, open or long hair. Loose objects can be
caught in moving parts despite protective
devices, and lead to injuries.
Do not use brushes, sanding or polishing tools
which are not specifically designed and recom-
mended by the power tool manufacturer. Safe
operation is not ensured merely because
brushes, sanding and polishing tools fit your
machine.
The allowable speed of the brushes, sanding or
polishing tools must be at least as high as the
maximum speed of the machine. Tools that rotate
faster than allowed can be destroyed.
Be aware that brushes lose wire bristles or pieces
thereof during operation. Do not overstress the
wires by applying excessive load to the brush.
Wire pieces being thrown off can easily pene-
trate light clothing and/or the skin.
Always use the protective devices/guards on the
machine. The protective devices/guards must be
securely mounted to the machine so that maxi-
mum safety can be achieved. The protective
devices/guards are intended to protect the oper-
ator against metal particles being thrown about
and unintentional contact with the brushes,
sanding or polishing tools.
Caution! Danger of fire and explosion! When grind-
ing metals (e. g. aluminium or magnesium), dust
develops that can be combustible or explosive. Do
not operate the machine in the vicinity of combus-
tible materials. Sparks can ignite such materials.
The work piece must always lie securely on the
sanding table/rest. Pieces that are too small or too
thin may not be worked. Danger of injury from
work pieces being thrown from the machine.
