What to do in case of an emergency

In the case of an emergency, the machine must be switched off immediately using the emergency
off-switch.
2.2

Intended use of the machine

The packing presses PP40, PP80 and PP150 are designed specifically for the production of fruit
juices. For this, the already chopped fruit are brought onto the juice collection pan in several layers
either by hand or by mash pump and are then pressed out. Any other applications are to be
checked with the manufacturer before use. Only working and auxiliary materials checked with the
manufacturer must be used with the packing press. Written approval must be given by the
manufacturer before other working and auxiliary materials are used. Any other application is
considered improper use. The manufacturer is not liable for any resulting damage. The operator is
solely responsible for the risk. The machine is built according to the state-of-the-art and in line with
all recognised safety regulations. Nevertheless, its use may result in danger to life and limb of the
staff or third parties, or damage to the machine and other property. The machine must only be used
in a technically perfect condition, as intended, with due regard for safety, an awareness of hazards
and in due compliance with the operating manual. In particular, faults that can affect safety must be
eliminated immediately.
Observation of the operating manual and compliance with the servicing procedures are also part
and parcel of its intended use.
2.2.1

Staff requirements

The responsibilities of the personnel for the start-up and operation, maintenance and repair of the
machine must be defined clearly.
A distinction is made between different operating personal:
Production operator
The machine may only be operated by reliable, authorised and trained personnel. The legally
defined minimum age must be observed.
Setter for the machine overall operation
The machine must only be set-up by an authorised specialist and equipped for the operator.
Specialist for servicing and repair
The machine must only be maintained, repaired and recommissioned by an authorised specialist.
Work on the electrical system must only be performed by a qualified electrician.
It is expected that the electrical systems are commissioned, maintained and repaired by qualified
electricians and that this work is monitored and controlled by specialists. Qualified personnel are
persons who are authorised based on their education, experience and training as well as their
knowledge of the standards, requirements, operating conditions and accident prevention measures
by those responsible for the safety of the machine to perform the necessary activities and therefore
are able to recognise and prevent possible risks.
