5.4. OPERATING CONDITIONS FOR WHICH EQUIPMENT IS
NOT DESIGNED
The set cannot be used to handle:
− dirty water or water with solids in suspension;
− water containing acids or bases, and corrosive liquids in
general;
− water with a temperature over the temperature limit
given in chap. 5.3.;
− seawater;
− fl ammable liquids and hazardous liquids in general;
− the CABINET BOOSTER is not designed for portable use
GB
or use outdoors.
WARNING
NB: THE MOTOR-DRIVEN PUMPS MUST NEVER
BE MADE TO WORK WITHOUT LIQUID.

6. TECHNICAL DESIGN FEATURES

The CABINET BOOSTER set has been designed and built ac-
cording to the following standards:
− See point 6 in PART 1 manual;
− MECHANICAL RISKS MACHINERY DIRECTIVE 98/37/EC;
− ELECTRICAL RISKS MACHINERY DIRECTIVE 98/37/EC;
− LOW VOLTAGE DIRECTIVE 73/23/EC;
− ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY DIRECTIVE 89/336/
EC;
− PRESSURE RISK DIRECTIVE 97/23/EC, see expansion;
tank operating instructions;
− See point 4 HERTZ ONE controller board manual.

7. SPECIFICATIONS

For the pumps' technical specifi cations, refer to manuals
PART 1 and PART 2 (MULTIGO motor-driven surface pumps)
and the data plate on the pump.
For the controller board's technical specifi cations, refer to
sect. 4 of the HERTZ ONE instruction manual.
For the expansion tank's technical specifi cations, refer
to section 2 model 20016 in the relevant operating
instructions.

8. HANDLING AND TRANSPORT

CABINET BOOSTER sets are sent packed in a cardboard box
on a wooden pallet.
WARNING
The set must be handled with the utmost care
during transit, handling and installation.
Once unpacked, handle the set with care.
The set can weigh between 91 and 100 kg
depending on the model, and it is best to lift
the set with mechanical means.
Special care must be exercised when lifting
and installing, using a lift truck or other
suitable means. Attach eyebolts and/or belts
with a suitable load capacity to the anchor feet
on the outside of the cabinet at the top, and
under no circumstances attach lifting means
to other accessories. Be careful not to knock,
drop or swing the set about at all as this could
cause damage that cannot be seen. Do not
stand or operate equipment near the set while
it is being lifted and set down.
When removing the packaging, inspect the set carefully for
signs of damage or tampering during transit.
The set must be stored in a sheltered place.

9. PREPARING FOR USE

9.1. GENERAL CRITERIA

WARNING
INSTALLATION MUST BE CARRIED OUT BY A
QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN.
− The set must be installed in a well-ventilated room, pro-
tected from the elements and freezing conditions, in a
restricted area with enough space around it for perform-
ing maintenance and for removal;
− The diameter of connection pipes must be the same, or
at least no smaller, than the set's suction and discharge
manifolds. Said piping must be as short and straight as
possible and always have a positive gradient towards the
pumps, using as few bends as possible, and avoiding
goosenecks, which can cause a siphon effect or air pock-
ets. We recommend using metal pipes, or suffi ciently rig-
id plastic pipes, so that there is no problem of sagging;
− All threaded or fl anged connections must be properly
sealed to prevent air getting in;
− Supports, fi xing systems, piping and other components
of the system must be independent from the set so that
they do not generate additional loads or stress on the
cabinet booster;
− It is advisable to install an isolating valve immediately
downstream of the booster set;
− To prevent vibrations on the system's piping, we recom-
mend installing vibration-damping couplings on the set's
suction and discharge line;
− Always install a foot valve in installations where the liquid
source is lower than the pump;
− So that the set can be tested, you should add a tee
downstream with an isolating valve equipped either with
relevant piping for sending the liquid back towards the
suction tank or just an open outlet.
