Push the piston unit all the way
down. After removing the shaft, the
seal is located either in the shaft or
on the piston. Remove and inspect
the seal and clean or change as nec-
essary. If required, re-grease the pis-
ton with the silicone grease supplied.
(To clean the Transferpette® S
-8/-12 30–300 μl, remove the addi-
tional pressure ring from the piston.)

Slide the seal onto the piston with the
flat side upwards. (On the Transfer-
pette® S -8/-12 30–300 μl, first re-in-
stall the additional pressure ring!)
Tighten the cleaned or new shaft us-
ing the installation tool.

Reassemble the pipetting unit. Check
the instrument for leaks, see Mainte-
nance, p. 52 .
The pipetting unit must be screwed onto
the handle in a counter-clockwise direc-
tion until it clicks into place. Do not pull
the pipetting unit downwards!
