III. 1. Installing the battery
OSIRIS units are supplied with the battery not installed.
To install the battery:
• Remove the cover plate
• Connect the battery and insert it in its housing,
• Reinstall the cover plate, ensuring that it is fully
engaged.
III. 2. Connections
Oxygen supply to OSIRIS 2

before connecting it on the network (or cylinder) side.
To disconnect (after shutting down the unit), start by
disconnecting the hose from the network (or cylinder)

Electrical supply connection
• When running off the mains supply, connect the
special electrical unit (supplied by Air Liquide Medical
Systems).
The electrical powersupply also charges the internal
battery, whether OSIRIS 2 is in use or not (battery
charging time: 10 hours).
Setting up the patient circuit
Two types of patient circuit can be used on the OSIRIS
range.
Single-use patient circuit
A single-use patient circuit, composed of:
• a single-use patient tube (1) together with its control
tube (2),
• a single-use expiratory valve already connected to the
tubes above (3).
All our single use patient circuits are assembled in their
original packaging.
Setting up
• Connect one end of the ringed tube onto the outlet of
the OSIRIS 2 (standard conical outlet, 22 mm diameter).
• Whenever possible, fit a new bacteriological filter
onto the "patient" output of the expiratory valve.
