CHECK-LIST: Before use / Return from maintenance
• Check that the mains supply cable and the pipes (patient circuit, expiratory valve, expiratory
valve control tube and the oxygen supply pipe, etc.) are in a satisfactory general condition.
• Connect a gas supply to OSIRIS 2 from an oxygen source via an oxygen supply tube. Then
check that the supply pressure is between 280 kPa (2.8 bar) and 600 kPa (6 bar) inclusively
using a pressure monitoring system or an independent control pressure gauge.
• If using an oxygen cylinder, this must be equipped with reducer. Check that the supply pressure
is between 280 kPa (2.8 bar) and 600 kPa (6 bar).
• Connect the patient circuit (cf Pages 7 and 8).
• Switch the device on (switch in VAC/ACMV 100%, VAC/ACMV Air + O2 or VS-AI/PS). An
audible and visible signal will be activated. Check that the " " LED is not lit.
• Open the patient output and check that the pressure read on the bargraph is lower than 10
cmH
O. The Pmini alarm must activate after 2 cycles have occurred.
2
• Close off the patient outlet, and check that the PMAX audible and visual alarm is activated.
Disconnect the electrical power-supply. Check that the unit switches over to battery supply
without stopping ventilation.
• Connect OSIRIS 2 to the patient. The apparatus is ready to be used.
