3.2 INSTRUCTIONS FOR
USING THE MOTOR-
CYCLE
NOTE: If you are not familiar with the op-
eration of the motorcycle, before riding it,
carefully read the instructions contained in
the "CONTROLS" paragraph.
3.2.a Break-in instructions
During the first 1000 km, the follow-
ing rules must be SCRUPULOUSLY
observed, the NON-COMPLIANCE of
which MAY JUDGE THE LIFE AND
PERFORMANCE OF THE MOTORCY-
CLE:
- Before using the vehicle, warm up
the engine to a low number of revo-
lutions.
- Avoid fast starts and do not run the
engine at high revs.
- Drive at moderate speed until the
engine warms up.
- Repeatedly use both brakes to run
in the pads and discs.
- Avoid maintaining the same speed
for a long time.
- Avoid traveling long distances with-
out making stops.
3.2.b Identification of operating
problems
The following list of any operating
problems serves, in general, to identi-
fy their origin and implement the rem-
edy.
The engine does not start
- Inadequate starting technique: fol-
low the instructions in the paragraph
"Starting the engine".
- Side stand lowered.
The engine is slow to start
- Dirty spark plug or in bad condition:
replace
The engine starts but the operation
is erratic
- Dirty spark plug or in bad condition:
replace.
EN - 32
The spark plug gets dirty easily
- Inadequate spark plug, replace
The engine lacks power
- Dirty air filter: clean.
The brakes are not working prop-
erly
- Worn pads: replace at a specialized
repair shop.
