5.10 Sawing with the parallel guide fence
The parallel guide fence (C) is used for sawing in parallel to an existing edge. The guide fence can be mounted
on the right or left side of the machine. The cutting range is 40 to 200 mm [1.6 to 7.9 in] on the right side and
195 - 405 mm [7.7 to 15.9 in] on the left side. In the range of 195 to 260 mm [7.7 to 10.2 in], the machine must
be moved upwards by approx. 10 mm [0.4 in] so that the guide fence can be inserted underneath the motor
housing.
The selected width is shown at the scales on the guide bars. The edges with the red markings on the base
plates are used as pointers.
Use the following procedure to install the
parallel guide fence:
1.
Loosen the four wing screws (5).
2.

Warning
Risk of injury from obstructed guard
There is a risk that the parallel guide fence interferes with the operation
of the lower guard if it is used below the minimum dimensions. It is
possible that the saw blade is then freely accessible.
Use the parallel guide only inside the permissible cutting ranges.
➢
To ensure this, take note of the scales on the guide bars.
