Vehicle connection and disconnection

2. Vehicle connection and disconnection
Before connecting the vehicle, make sure that the charging cable and the connector are in perfect
condition and free of damage.
Connect the electric vehicle to the charger, verifying that the connector is fully inserted into the outlet. This
will ensure a good connection of the conductive elements, and will prevent overheating and other errors.
If the charger does not have an integrated charging cable, you must use your own cable that is compatible
with the charger and the vehicle's power outlets (if you have questions about which charging cable you need,
ask your installer or your vehicle dealer). In this case you can connect or disconnect the cable to/from the
vehicle first and then the charger, or vice-versa.
Never use the charging cable with adapters and extension cords, as this can cause dangerous situations.
Most electric vehicles lock the charging cable when they are connected to a charger, or at least when they
are charging. Do not use force to disconnect the vehicle while charging, as it can be dangerous. Always
ensure the vehicle is not charging before attempting to remove the charging cable. If you do not know
how to unlock the cable please see your vehicle's manual.
When you disconnect the charging cable, always try to pick it up and protect the connector (if you have a
charger with an integrated charging cable, use the connector bracket that comes with the unit).
