SELECTION CRITERIA, ADJUSTMENT, MOULDING AND REFINING OF THE 4SEAL LINER
Patient assessment:
The user should meet the following criteria to ensure that the 4Seal liner can be used without problems:
• sufficient strength and dexterity in the hands to be able to roll the liner over the residual limb;
• cognitive ability to be able to put on and clean the liner correctly and reliably every day;
• relatively stable residual limb volume over the day;
• all seals must be below the planned edge of the socket.
Contraindications:
• socket cannot achieve total contact
• residual limb volume fluctuates
• extremely conical residual limb
• very short residual limb (also see the Minimum length table)

Selecting the 4Seal TF Liner:
Figure 1
Measure the residual limb circumference 4 cm above the end of the residual limb. Ensure that any overhanging
soft tissue is taken into account.
Select the size of the 4Seal Liner according to the size table and reduce up to one size depending on the soft tissue
conditions.
Depending on the residual limb condition, it may be that the selected liner still does not fit satisfactorily. After
putting on the liner, you should check the fit and select an alternative liner size if necessary.
Putting on the liner:
Figure 2 + 3
Before putting the liner on, make sure that it is clean and dry and that the seals are clean and free of debris.
Turn the liner completely inside-out so that the distal end is exposed. (Fig. 2)
Note: The use of talc or spray is not required, thanks to the Easy-Glide PLUS coating. Indeed, the use of any form
of lubricant is not permitted, since this surface coating may gradually become damaged by them.
Centre the exposed end of the liner on the residual limb end and slide the silicone liner upwards with gentle
pressure. (Fig. 3)
Make sure that no air pockets are formed. These can lead to skin irritation and excessive sweating.
Checking the liner's f it:
Figures 4 + 5
After the liner has been put on, we recommend that you check the fit. In particular, the area of the seals should be
examined. (Fig. 4)
