Notes on refi lling gas cylinders
Certain LPG dealers can fi ll LPG cylinders for use in the barbecue beyond the
capacity of the cylinders. This "overfi lling" can lead to a dangerous condition. The
"overfi lling" of tanks can cause excess pressure to build up. As a safety device,
the tank's pressure relief valve vents gas vapour to relieve this excess pressure.
This vapour is fl ammable and can therefore be ignited accidentally. To reduce this
danger, you should take the following safety precautions:
• If you have your gas cylinder fi lled, be sure to tell the gas dealer that no more
than 80 % of the total capacity of the gas cylinder may be fi lled.
• If you have or use an extra reserve gas bottle or have an unconnected gas
bottle, never store it near or under the grill or heat box or near any other
source of ignition or heat.
WARNING
Danger of fi re and explosion!
If you smell gas:
1. Turn off the gas supply to the appliance at the gas bottle.
2. Extinguish all open fl ames.
3. Open the lid.
4. If the smell of gas persists, stay away from the device and call
the local fi re brigade.
