9.6 Battery recharging procedure

Remove the battery from its mount and take it to a cool, dry place
2 Make sure its power button is set to OFF
3 Insert the charger connector into the socket under the cover
4 Hook the charger up to the mains (220-240V); the charger's led turns RED while it is charging
the battery;
5 A full battery charge cycle takes 4-5 hours (depending on the model of battery and charger)
6 Once the battery is fully charged, the led turns GREEN
7 You can now disconnect the charger from the battery and close the cover on the battery socket
This battery is rated for over 400 charging cycles and has a range of around 50
km. The performance of the battery is affected by a variety of factors: performance
requirements, weight of passenger, running of the wheelchair, route, weather. The data
indicate its average performance on mixed routes with 50% power assistance

Use only official Tiboda batteries and chargers
•
You may see a spark when connecting the battery to the charger. Make sure no
flammable matter or fluids are in the vicinity

Charge the battery under adult supervision and in a well ventilated area
•
Charge battery far away from flammable matter
•
Do not leave or charge the battery in the vicinity of a heat source
•
Do not charge the battery at temperatures below 0°C
•
Keep the battery charged at all times
•
Do not leave the charger powered at 230 V for too long after it has finished charging
the battery, as indicated by the green light. (BMS FUNCTION)
•
Do not short circuit the battery (by touching the two terminals to a metal object)
•
Do not immerse the battery in water
•
Do not attempt to open the battery pack
•
Do not allow children to play with the battery pack
•
Do not dispose of the battery as domestic waste; have it disposed of by a sorted waste
centre
•
Do not use the battery to power other equipment
•
Do not leave the battery in the sun for a long time, and never leave it under the rain
•
Avoid contact with the battery fluid if it leaks out of the battery
•
Never run two full charge cycles in a row
•
Always combine partial and full charge cycles as described above
•
Never discharge the battery completely, i.e. below 20% (when the battery indicates
that it is discharged). Fully discharging the battery can damage it beyond repair
