Use
Device functions are managed by means of an external HMI or via APP.
The operating speeds (1,2,3,4, BOOST) are user-selectable. The default values of V1, V2, V3, V BOOST can be changed
via the outer display (HMI). See the "Speed Adjustment Menu" page under the "Outer Display (HMI)" paragraph.
The user cannot switch off the motors via HMI but can do so via Wi-Fi. Whenever the OFF position is selected via WiFi,
the extraction fan (Exh) will continue to run for 2 minutes at boost speed to dispose of any accumulated condensate.
It is possible to pair use with a VORTICE preheater. This device shall be installed by an installer. The minimum distance of
the pre-heater from the device is 500 mm.
Main functions
• "Heat recovery" operation
This type of operation is normally active, except in the presence of:
- Automatic "No-Frost", "By-Pass" and "Post-ventilation" functions: active.
Stale air (B fig.2) is expelled to the outside through an outside duct (D fig.2). At the same time, fresh air (C fig.2) is taken
in from outside. This is heated or cooled by the action of the air/air heat exchanger. The fresh air enters into the room
through a special ventilation duct (fig.2).
• Detection by means of 4 temperature probes for outside air (Ext probe), inside air (Int probe), outside air (Exh
probe), supply air (Sup probe).
• "No-Frost" operation
NO-FROST protection works to keep the temperature of the exhaust air above freezing point, preventing damage to the
device caused by excessively cold temperatures. NO-FROST activates based on the reading of the Text outside and Texh
exhaust air temperatures.
Conditions for NO-FROST activation:
- Tout and Texh probes running: the NO-FROST procedure does not start if these probes are faulty.
- Outside air temperature Text < 0°C.
- At least 2 minutes must have passed since the last time the fans were switched on.
"No frost" is automatically activated when the device detects that the outside air temperature is too low for a certain amount
of time. When "No Frost" is running:
- The message "No Frost" will appear on the display.
When the flashing "Alarm!" and "Lockout!" messages appear on the display, this indicates a "no-frost timeout" condition: in
this case, the no-frost procedure is insufficient and the device will go into protection conditions for one hour, with the motors
stopped, after which the system re-activates the machine.
Note: Re-activation of the device is automatic and does not require any operations by the user.
Note: NO-FROST has priority over all other functions. For example, you cannot change the speed of the motors
manually when no-frost is active and unbalance is activated.
• "Automatic by-pass" operation
The by-pass valve is not present. The By-pass function is thermodynamic, is always active automatically and is activated by
unbalancing the flows.
Flow unbalancing occurs with the following motor speed settings:
- EXHAUST motor: minimum factory speed (default 25%).
- SUPPLY motor: speed '2' set.
The "by-pass temperature" (Tset) is the "desired temperature", with respect to which the machine activates/deactivates the
by-pass. Tset = user-settable setpoint from 15° to 30°, default = 18°.
