COMPLETE DISMOUNTING OF THE HEADSET
Attention:
The complete dismounting of the LOOK Head Fit 3 headset necessitates the use of special
tools; it is strongly advised to consult your authorized LOOK retailer.
1 / Completely loosen the stem.
2 / Make the stem slide towards the top of the steerer tube. Remove the rubber caps mounted
on the cache's tube.
3 / Loosen the spacer with the advised tools (see Fig. b in the paragraph "Settings of the head
set) and remove the spacer from the fork steerer tube.
The pin is then visible. Turn the fork a quarter rotation to align the pin opposite the holes in the
tube.
4 / Remove the pin with a diameter 4 drift punch and remove it on the other side of the tube.
5 / Take the pin out of the fork steerer tube. Take care to hold the fork so that it does not slide
from the tube and be damaged when falling for once the pin removed, no mechanical stop
retains the fork.
6 / remove the lower 1"1/2 bearing from the fork's cone.
WARNING:
Carbon is a very abrasive material that quickly deteriorates tools. If the steerer tube is
too long, the stem will not press against the specific ring which may entail its floating. If
the steerer tube is too short, the contact area between the steerer tube and the stem
will be too feeble and the hold of the stem will not be optimal.
IMPORTANT:
Do not lubricate the steerer tube.
Use the LOOK Head Fit 3 headset supplied with the HSC 7 Aero fork or a headset advised
by LOOK.
