General safety statements

Carefully read the Instructions for Use and the Instructions

for Use of the corresponding products before using the
product.
Strictly follow the instructions for use! The user must fully

understand and strictly observe the instructions. Use the
product only for the purposes specified in the intended use
section of this document.
Do not throw away instructions for use. Ensure that they

are retained and appropriately used by the product user.
Only trained and competent users are permitted to use this

product.
Comply with all local and national rules and regulations

associated with this product.
Only trained and competent personnel are permitted to

inspect, repair and service the product. Dräger recommend
a Dräger service contract for all maintenance activities and
that all repairs are carried out by Dräger.
Use only genuine Dräger spare parts and accessories. The

correct function of the product may be impaired.
Do not use a faulty or incomplete product. Do not modify

the product.
Notify Dräger in the event of any component fault or failure.

This language version of the instructions for use is a

translation of the original instructions for use.

Definitions of alert icons

The following alert messages are used in this document to
provide and highlight areas of the associated text that require
a greater awareness by the user. A definition of the meaning of
each alert message is as follows:
DANGER
!
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation. If not
avoided, it will result in death or serious injury.
WARNING
!
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If not
avoided, it could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
!
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If this
situation is not avoided, injuries or damage to the
product or environment may occur. May also be used
as a warning against improper use.

Product-specific safety instructions

Explosion hazard due to unsuitable materials
WARNING
!
Oils, greases and other materials not suitable for
oxygen may combust in contact with oxygen and thus
result in a hazard to the operator.
All parts carrying oxygen and the tools and test devices
used must be free of oil and grease.
Test devices and materials not tested and approved for
applications using oxygen are not permitted to be used
(observe the temperature and pressure ranges).
Not for operation in explosion-hazard areas
DANGER
!
The Dräger Oxygen Booster 200 ECO must not be
used in explosion-hazard areas or when flammable
gases are present.
The Dräger Oxygen Booster 200 ECO is not designed
for these uses. An explosion may occur under certain
circumstances.
Hazard when handling oxygen
DANGER
!
Risk of an explosion or serious fire if oxygen escapes!
Oxygen encourages the spread of fire.
The Dräger Oxygen Booster 200 ECO must be
protected against the weather (it may not get wet) and
may only be used outside buildings or in very well
ventilated rooms with a maximum O
23 %Vol.
Smoking and open flames are prohibited in the area
around the Dräger Oxygen Booster 200 ECO!
If an oxygen leak is suspected, immediately switch off
the Dräger Oxygen Booster 200 ECO, ensure that the
ambient air does not contain an O
than 23 %Vol and that the clothes worn are well-
ventilated for at least 15 minutes. Observe the national
regulations on handling oxygen.
Manipulation of pressurized components
DANGER
!
Pressurized parts, such as ends of hoses, may come
unfastened suddenly and cause potentially fatal
injuries due to the pressure thrust.
Any work on the Dräger Oxygen Booster 200 ECO
must be carried out only when the device is de-
pressurized.
With all the procedures described, always open and
close the valves slowly. Never unfasten or tighten
hoses and tube connections under pressure.
