Ship Lithium
Ship Lithium sets the State of Charge of a Motorola Solutions Lithium-
Ion battery to a low value permitted for bulk shipment: approximately
25 % of rated capacity.
Some Motorola Solutions batteries may be fully discharged before
charging up to the Ship Lithium limit. Such batteries include IMPRES 2
or IMPRES batteries that were never calibration or require a new
calibration and other authentic Motorola Solutions batteries that are not
IMPRES 2 or IMPRES.
Ship Lithium applies only to authentic Motorola Solutions Lithium-Ion
batteries (IMPRES 2, IMPRES, or other Motorola Solutions Lithium-Ion
batteries). Other batteries (such as Unknown or Motorola Solutions
Nickel or Clamshell batteries) are faulted.
Long-Term Storage
Long-Term Storage sets the IMPRES 2 or IMPRES battery to a state of
charge suitable for placement into storage for a long period of time.
Generally, the preferred storage state of charge is significantly less
than full charge. The xx% selection is a value programmed in the
IMPRES 2 or IMPRES battery or, by default, 50 % of rated capacity.
Long-Term Storage at 75 % Rated Capacity is available for scenarios
requiring the stored battery to be at a higher state of charge, for
example, minimizing full-charge time if the battery must be quickly
fielded or enabling storage for a longer period of time.
Some IMPRES 2 or IMPRES batteries may be fully discharged before
charging to the Long-Term Storage selection. Such batteries are
IMPRES 2 or IMPRES batteries that were never calibrated or require a
new calibration.
Long-Term Storage applies only to IMPRES 2 or IMPRES batteries.
Other batteries (such as Unknown or Motorola Solutions non-IMPRES
or Clamshell batteries) are faulted.
