Installation and electrical connection
DANGER
Electrocution hazard!
Improper conduct when carrying out electrical work causes death due to electric shock!
• Electrical work must be carried out by a qualified electrician!
• Observe local regulations!
DANGER
Risk of explosion due to incorrect connection!
• Always connect the mixer to an electrical outlet outside the explosive area. If the
connection must be made within the explosive area, then the connection must be
carried out in an Ex-rated housing (ignition protection class according to
DIN EN 60079‑0)! Non-observance may lead to a risk of fatal injury due to explo-
sion!
• Connect the potential compensator to the ground terminal indicated. The ground
terminal is installed in the area of the connection cable. A cable cross-section in ac-
cordance with the locally applicable regulations must be used for the potential com-
pensator.
• Connection must always be carried out by a qualified electrician.
• For the electrical connection, also note the additional information in the chapter on
potentially explosive areas found in the appendix of these installation and operating
instructions!
ƒ
Mains connection corresponds to the information on the rating plate.
ƒ
Power supply on mains side with clockwise rotating field for three-phase AC motors (3~
motor).
ƒ
Route the connection cables according to the local regulations and connect them ac-
cording to the wire assignment.
ƒ
Connect all of the monitoring devices and check their function.
ƒ
Secure the earthing in accordance with the local regulations.
Circuit breaker
The size and switching characteristics of the circuit breakers must conform to the rated cur-
rent of the product connected. Observe the locally applicable regulations.
Motor protection switch
For products supplied without a plug, a motor protection switch must be installed on-site.
The minimum requirement is a thermal relay/motor protection switch with temperature
compensation, differential triggering and an anti-reactivation device, in accordance with lo-
cal regulations. Further protection devices (e.g. overvoltage, undervoltage, or phase-failure
relay etc.) must be provided on-site for sensitive power supplies.
Residual-current device (RCD)
ƒ
Install residual-current device (RCD) according to the regulations of the local energy sup-
ply company.
ƒ
If contact with the product and conductive liquids is possible, install residual-current de-
vice (RCD).
ƒ
Check the insulation resistance of the motor winding.
ƒ
Test the resistance of the temperature sensor.
