Possible cause
The surface burner knob is
not in the Off position and
the burner is not lit.
There is a gas leak.
Action
Turn the burner knob to Off.
• Clear all occupants from the room/
building/area.
• Immediately call your gas supplier
from a neighbor's home; your
own phone may cause a spark
that ignites the gas; follow the gas
supplier's instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas
supplier, call the fire department.
