8.5.1 General instructions
A few simple cleaning tasks are required to have a per-
fectly sanitised and efficient appliance. The instructions
provided here apply when the machine is being used
on a regular basis. If the machine is used consistently,
cleaning should be performed more frequently.
Do not use alkaline cleaners, solvents, alcohol or aggressive
substances. The products/cleaners used must be suitable for this
purpose and not corrode the water circuit elements.
Do not use abrasive cleaners which may scratch the bodywork's
surface.
Always use clean and sanitised cloths when cleaning.
When washing the filters, filter holders and all machine
components, use Manufacturer-supplied cleaners or products
specific for cleaning professional coffee machines.
Cleaning
Body and Grilles:
Clean the panels of the body with a cloth dampened in
lukewarm water.
Remove the drip tray and cup holder grille and wash with
hot water.
Capsule holder:
Clean the capsule holder as indicated in para. 8.5.2.
Steam nozzle:
Keep the nozzle clean at all times using a cloth dampened
in lukewarm water.
Check and clean the nozzle tips, by clearing the steam
outlet holes with a small needle.
Wash these on a weekly basis, as indicated in para. 8.5.2.
Dispensing group:
Clean the components as indicated in para. 8.5.2.

8.5.2 Cleaning
We recommend cleaning the capsule holder every
week with the Wega specific coffee cleaning products.
The procedure to follow is described below:
1.
Place the capsule holder (only the metal part, not
the plastic part) in a container of hot water* with
the cleaning product;
2.
Let sit for ten minutes;
3.
Rinse with clean water.
We also recommend cleaning the dispensing group
with a blind capsule holder containing a Wega specific
coffee cleaning product. The procedure to follow is de-
scribed below:
1.
Place a tablespoon (3-5 g) of the cleaning product
in a blind capsule holder;
2.
Attach the capsule holder to the dispensing group;
3.
Start dispensing manually;
4.
Wait ten seconds;
5.
Stop dispensing;
6.
Repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 at least 5 times;
7.
Remove the capsule holder and rinse with clean
water.

Similarly, we recommend cleaning the steam nozzle
with a Wega specific milk cleaning product, according
to the procedure described below:

1.
Put a dose (25 ml) of cleaning product in a jug with
500 ml of water;
2.
Immerse the steam nozzle into the jug;
3.
Start dispensing the steam;
4.
Wait five seconds;

5.
Stop dispensing the steam;
6.
Repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 at least 5 times with 30-sec-
ond intervals between each cycle;
7.
Remove the jug and dry the nozzle with a soft cloth;

8.
Rinse the jug;
9.
Fill the jug with 500 ml of clean water;
10. Rinse the nozzle by repeating steps 2,3,4,5 and 7.
*PLEASE NOTE: Hot water can be dispensed directly
from the machine.
