G. FOR YOUR SAFETY
1. SAFETY ADVICE – HELMET
Warning:
Never ride without a helmet!
Warning:
No helmet is as safe as riding safely!
Motorcycle riding has special personal hazards. The risks that are being
taken by riding a motorcycle can be reduced but not eliminated by
wearing a helmet.
Warning:
No helmet can protect the wearer against all foreseeable
impacts!
There are limits to the physical size and weight of the helmet a person
can wear. The ability of a helmet to protect the wearer is limited.
No helmet can protect the wearer against all foreseeable impacts.
Warning:
Use only a helmet that fits snugly all around your head.
Fasten the chin-strap securely under your chin!
A helmet can provide protection only to the extent that your head is
covered with the helmet. The use of a properly fitted, securely fastened
helmet can lessen the risk of death or permanent impairment due to
head injury. For maximum head protection, the helmet must be properly
fitted. The retention system must be correctly adjusted and securely
fastened under the chin. Failure to have a proper fit and to securely
fasten the helmet is dangerous as the helmet could come off in an
accident resulting in severe head injury or death.
Warning:
Always check your helmet before every ride!
1. Check the face shield and sun visor.
2. Check the correct function of the shield and visor mechanics.
3. Check for cracks in the helmet. Strong acid (e.g. battery acid) can
damage the shield bases. If you find cracks or damage, stop using
the helmet immediately.
