5.2.6. Dielectric Discharge
This measurement method is generally used to diagnose multilayer
insulation, which requires the instrument to measure the discharge
current and the capacitance of the object measured 1 min after the test
voltage is removed. This is a very good insulation diagnostic test to detect
deterioration and other problems in the multiple insulation to be
evaluated.
