Maintenance
Before each use, check the general condition of all fracture frame components,
particularly pulley clamps, screw clamps, and the lifting strap and handle.
Replace any worn or damaged parts immediately.
Change the protective foam balls for each patient.
Cleaning
Only use approved disinfectants and cleaning methods. Other products may cause
degradation of the equipment and possibly premature failure.
Use all cleaners and disinfectants with care. Obey the manufacturer's instructions
for use.
Do not disinfect the strap and handle in a pressure chamber, autoclave or steam
cleaner as this may damage the product.
Before cleaning the handle, extend the strap fully and leave it extended until the
handle is completely dry
Frame: use a hospital grade alcohol or aldehyde based disinfectant solution. Spray the
solution onto the frame components, paying particular attention to moving parts, then wipe
off with a disposable cloth.
Lifting strap and handle: follow the cleaning and disinfection procedures recommended
by the manufacturer – see respective bed Instructions for Use (IFU) or follow local

End of Life Disposal
Components that are primarily be made up of different kinds of metal (containing more than
90% metal by weight) for example sling bars, rails, upright supports, etc., should be recycled
as metals.
